We evolved technically, but there was no evolution of human heart.

In 21st century people still kill other people because of land, religion, race or difference in oppinions.

I pray for all people who suffer because of other people or even because of one aggressive, narcissistic & maniacal man.

P.S. I am sorry if someone will bothered or offended by this.
Just my oppinion about world right now.

All the best
MD

Correct, I grew up loving Star Trek because of it's view of man evolving past these things. I always wanted to believe it was true. But alas, we can advance our technology but we cannot advance humanity, at least not in a holistic way. Equally troubling, American leaders and people in the media not just giving V P a pass, but expressing admiration. You know the few I am talking about, and it is sick. Something has really taken a turn in the wrong direction, it is like the planet started to turn back the other direction, and i fear it is not going to resolve itself.

Sanction every nickle, everything, lock it down, forever

Since you brought politics into this thread. Why don't you complete the thought so we can lock it?

I feel sick for the people of Ukraine and for the people of you own state buddy.

I do too, and I feel helpless. Thanks Solium.
I do not know what we are gonna do with this globe.

I am Polish/Ukrainian.
I don't even have words to express how we in this house are feeling.

You're both sweeties, Ado and Brother Sol (and MD, you are too for starting this thread).
I don't have any immediate family over there, but it's no less heartbreaking.

If there is anything that can be said for Ukrainian people in particular, it is that we are resilient survivors.
I know it sounds dreadfully cliche, but even if the country is lost, the culture will go on.

My dear friend, I am with you. I am from Slovakia.
At my work today my colleagues were genuinely afraid of actual situation.

Slovakia and Czech republic (now) lived through "peaceful" invasion in 1968, because former Czechoslovakia deviated from the Soviet perception of the world and no one helped us because of "spheres of influence".

I really hope that it will be different for Ukraine.

I think we can be civil, kind and nice on this board.
This should not be about politics and it is not about politics.
This is only about people - thousands, millions of innocent people who do not do high politics and do not want war and are suffering and will suffer because of the madness of few.

Please pray and think about all Ukraine people and help them anyway possible.

Thank you friends for listening and reading.

All the best and please stay safe.
MD

Thanks
I’ll take the award if it keeps the thread focused on Ukraine and the terrible situation. Putin’s a thug. I wish more could be done to stop him.

Heartbreaking is all I can say at this moment. History has taught some who lead nothing and has actually emboldened them. I am tired of saying I give my thoughts and prayers but then I ask myself what else can I do in the moment? Too often I see those prayers unanswered.

To any of you who are in Ukraine or in an area affected by this disaster, your safety and well being will be on my mind, I promise.

Thank you for letting us know this. If there are any other folks here from Ukraine, perhaps others can also let us know about them as well.

I'd like it if we could just devote a thread with wishes to those folks.

Ray1992, if you're reading this thread, prayers and thoughts for your safety and protection.

I spent a couple weeks as a tourist in the Soviet Union just before Gorby's arrival on the world scene. Included was time spent in Ukraine. This morning at work found me giving a history lesson to younger colleagues to give what is happening now context. I mean it spanned the 20s, 30s, WWII and right up to my trip. Not a long conversation but they got the idea. If you know the background you can only feel a little more numb even though it's not happening here.

I didn't know Ray was Ukrainian either. I sure hope he's safe. He's a refreshing voice on this forum, one of the few interested in vintage synth scores. Please let us know if you read this, Ray. I don't know if you're in Kyiv or somewhere else in the country.

Howard, I'm so pleased to hear you say this. I know my pre-WW2 history quite well and I've shared this with my kids often. I see from their reaction to this situation now that it gave them deeper insight.

I had contact with him on Messenger yesterday. He was safe then. He apparently lives in a small town in the western part of Ukraine.
