Continuing SEASON 1:

A one-season lived Quinn Martin production. But it did have a full season.

Despite a full season, barely any episodes had original scores and the series was heavily tracked with cues from those scores, including in some rare cases, alternate versions.

All composers only did one episode, so I will not bother mentioning that in each entry as I normally would do. And since there are so few, to draw out interest, I am only doing one episode a day.

Most Wanted (A.K.A.: the feature-length pilot)
By: Patrick Williams
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn8OEVV8E7A
Score suite: https://youtube.com/watch?v=mObxQp_q7So

NOTE: Cues marked with an asterix (*) were not used in the suite or may have had partial bits used as a last-minute decision which I didn't note, so if you enjoyed the suite, you may wish to check out these cues. Please note that this comment will apply to all episodes from hereon in, even though currently there is only one other suite completed and up.

Highlights:
  • 2:50 in.*
  • 9:07 in.*
  • 11:47 in.
  • 14:12 in. And the cue after the commercial break.
  • 18:09 in.
  • 24:55 in.*
  • 28:10 in.*
  • 31:51 in.
  • 37:51 in.
  • 41:02 in.
  • 47:08 in. And the cue after the commercial break.
  • 49:44 in.
  • 51:01 in.
  • 55:58 in.*
  • 1:05:21 in. Also including some super rare use of anklungs in the score of any TV series episode.
  • 1:07:02 in.
  • 1:12:00 in. The end credits music, featuring his theme which did not go beyond the pilot.

I posted the suite originally in my December 13, 2021 suites batch in my TV Series Scoring Thread:
    https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?pageID=5&forumID=1&threadID=142699&archive=0

    In it I noted:

Even though the scores were tracked so heavily, I didn't find a single episode that tracked Williams. That and his theme not surviving beyond the pilot, indicates to me it was not a happy experience for him and the producers were not thrilled with his work.

They definitely saved the original scores for the stronger episodes IMO. And considering how many would-be regulars in the pilot weren't retained the series. ..

Of course, the main theme for the eventual series was composed by Lalo Schifrin, who rerecorded it for his "Towering Toccata" album.

Of course, the main theme for the eventual series was composed by Lalo Schifrin, who rerecorded it for his "Towering Toccata" album.

"The Skykiller", the episode he scored, a lot better than the actual pilot movie...

    Continuing SEASON 1:

It's not sold out or discontinued yet, so get it while you can!

    "The Slaver"

    Highlights:
  • 1:12 in.*
  • 3:05 in.*
  • 7:45 in.
  • 8:10 in. Joining a cue already in progress.*
  • 16:37 in.
  • 21:34 in.
  • 23:53 in.*
  • 27:03 in.
  • 29:47 in. I wrote down this highlight in a very light marking, possibly indicating I wasn't sure to keep it or not.*
  • 30:55 in.
  • 35:51 in. And the cue after the commercial break.
  • 41:30 in.*
  • 42:51 in.
  • 44:36 in.*
  • 45:50 in.*

After "The Wolf Pack", this was probably the second of third most tracked score; the other being Schifrin's score.
