They've been playing some of his classical recordings in LA on KUSC. Surprisingly good material and very consistent tonally with his film scores.

I like the Decca 2-cd sets issued some years ago. 5 2-cd volumes of orchestral works and 1 volume of sacred works. Some of these are a little hard to track down now. I just recently finally found - I think - the volume of sacred works and hope it will arrive soon.

I'm pretty sure those are the recordings they've been playing excerpts from.

Gee, and here I thought I was safe from having to hear this guy bloviate and pontificate.

As you all so much love David Hurwitz, you surely don't want to miss this episode of David's review of a Sony box - no it's not Naxos.

Review: Muti conducts Italian Masters, Splendidly

Of course, this review includes the Muti/Rota recordings Hurwitz is also talking about in his chat I've posted above.

The Rota review starts at 11:40 -- but it's also worth watching the whole review. -- Do you want to know why Sony acquired Columbia?
