For me the third film in the Disney's Planes series, (Planes and Planes Fire and Rescue). I love the first two scores and I thought the third film could've been even bigger and better. Sadly DisneyToon Studios was shut down and the last film was scrapped.

Volunteers - James Horner (Intrada) due to licencee refusing to allow release, apparently elements now deteriorating and may be beyond use eventually. Silly rabbits.

Hopefully a re-recording may be possible at some point.

"Star Trek: Phase II". Because I know Gene would have chosen Alexander Courage and maybe even Jerry Goldsmith for the pilot.

I like to imagine if James Horner hadn't died, he might have been picked to score Star Wars: Solo due to having previously worked with Ron Howard. I would have loved hearing a James Horner Star Wars score.

Similarly I wish he would have scored Trek 4 to finish out that trilogy

That's one I've thought of too. I enjoy what Powell did, but the idea of a James Horner score to that film is a great thought.

Not sure about "most" anticipated but one that immediately springs to mind is Alan Silvestri doing PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN.

One for me was the music of Bob Buckley's score to the first ever completely CGI TV show - REBOOT.

A 4 CD set was planned spanning music from the show. The composer did give me a 1 CDs worth of Wave files highlights which I'm forever grateful for - but would have loved to own that soundtrack - loved that show.

But if I mis-understood the question, maybe it'd be CLINT MANSELL's Ghost in the Shell? We did get a digital promo release from Balfe.

Superman 2 by John Williams

If only The Salkinds and lil dick Lester had not gone truly 100% Cheap and Stupid and left Richard Donner Alone…We all would of gotten a New Superman 2 Score from John Williams and Performed by The 110 Member LSO. and Not…Ken Thorne rehash music, Performed By…The 50 Member London High School Band!

John Barry: The Right Stuff, Clash of the Titans, and Sinful Davy

Lalo Schifrin: The Reivers

And let’s not Forget The Constant Nagging and Bothering John Barry to the Point, he said Goodbye to Nagging Barbra Streisand, calling it THE WORST JOB EVER! (I have links, to back that up) to The Prince of Tides.

And Robert Redford’s The Horse Whisperer.

Goldsmith's score for Paul Verhoeven's still, as yet, unmade CRUSADE starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Apparently Horner and Howard fell out over The Missing. So this would have been unlikely.

That awful Tim Burton Superman that thankfully fell through, would have had a score by Danny Elfman. Forgot about that one. Just another example.
