I would have sworn that that had been done already, but I guess not.

Artwork says 20 discs. There were 22 titles released by Phillips.

Over on jwfan they are saying that By Request and Pops Britannia are merged onto one disc in this new set, removing the duplicated material that both featured.
That leaves That’s Entertainment as AWOL and is apparently not going to be included in this “complete” set. Things may become clearer once Decca release the track listing. Maybe the tracks from Entertainment have been spread over several other discs?

I have a few of these titles, including By Request and That’s Entertainment, but will probably be picking this set up for the rest.

Jurassic, I don't know where you got your list but all the titles you have listed as "Non Phillips" were definitely released on the Phillips Classics label.

Phillips (now Decca) lost the John Williams & the Boston Pops contract to Sony around 1990. The Sony Boston Pops releases are included in "John Williams, Conductor." The contract seemed to follow Williams rather than the Pops organization.

Music of the Night: Pops on Broadway (1990)
John Williams Conducts John Williams: The Star Wars Trilogy (1990)
The Spielberg/Williams Collaboration (1990)
I Love a Parade (1991)
The Green Album (1992)
Joy to the World (1992)
Night and Day: Celebrate Sinatra (1993)
Unforgettable (1993)
Music for Stage and Screen (1994)
It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing (1994)
Williams on Williams: The Classic Spielberg Scores (1995)
Summon the Heroes (1996)
Cinema Serenade (1997)
The Five Sacred Trees (1997)
The Hollywood Sound (1997)
Gershwin Fantasy (1998)
Cinema Serenade 2 (1999)
Yo-Yo Ma Plays the Music of John Williams (2002)
American Journey (2002)
Spielberg/Williams Collaboration, Part III (2017)

Could do.

The packshot originally posted over on jwfan stated 20 discs. The packshot on Amazon states 21.
Maybe they've realised their error. Hopefully more info will be forthcoming.

Neither the source at JWFan nor the placeholder page on AmazonUK are reliable. When we have a firm ship date and a public announcement we'll know the facts.

I'm guessing these will not be in actual jewel cases each as that would be one LONG box, probably win skinnier sleeves, but I'll probably need to get it smile

This would be an ideal time to do new Soundstream-to-DSD conversions for these early digital recordings and issue them on SA-CD.

The artwork clearly indicates it’s 21 discs. All the Amazon portals showing the same details as well.

These sorts of classical label box set reissues are usually quite affordable, actually. I wouldn't be surprised if this 21 CD set ended up being $50-80. I'll be surprised if it's over $100.

The 2018 Sony "John Williams Conductor" 20-disc set is currently selling for $70 on Amazon.

Ah, thank you!

The list I had posted was from jwfan, so I think there was some misunderstanding.

If I’m understanding you correctly, the “John Williams, Conductor” set covers the later half of Williams’ tenure with the Boston Pops, and this apparently forthcoming “Philips” set will cover the earlier half of his tenure. Since I’ve always been confused by these works, it sounds like getting both will cover all of his Pops music?
