Does anybody out there remember the music that was heard on the "Underdog" animated series? There was the memorable title song, of course, but there were those wonderful dramatic cues that were reused in various episodes.

Wow! Thanks! Yes, I remember the music - it was a major factor that set Underdog apart from most of its cartoon contemporaries. I don't know how much actual music was composed for the show, but it seemed somewhat minimal and as you stated was reused, but it was very memorable. I liked how it typically built rather slowly and would usually climax with the three-note motif of "Un-der-dog!".

Great stuff, that!

Of course I remember the main theme but not so much the underscore. If I recall Underdog were 10 minute shorts? So I imagine most of the music were stingers and brief motifs.

I remember it as well. Along with Commander McBragg and Rocky and Bullwinkle, all of which shared similar music.

I certainly do. Especially when it was featured in Star Trek III: The Search For Spock.

Underdog story episodes were usually broken up into four cliffhanging segments, with other cartoons sandwiched between. A four-part underdog story would be spread across two 30-minute episodes.

And yeah, I found the music to be quite memorable.

"Simon says, GO SNOW!!!"

I LOVED Underdog when I was a kid. I even had a giant Underdog toy that my dad somehow managed to finagle from a vendor at one of the local fairs (I think it was one of the prizes for some game I can't remember).

I remember watching it on Nickelodeon every day after I got home from school in the early '90s (1993-94). Even the local CBS station in my area showed King Leonardo and Underdog back-to-back early on Saturday mornings before the network took over. I always got up to watch.
