if indeed the franchise survives the multitude of disappointments therein. Oh please. This is far from the worst Bond movie and the series hasn't died yet. The series has survived Diamonds Are Forever, The Man with the Golden Gun, A View to a Kill, Die Another Day and Quantum of Solace. The box office failure of Licence to Kill didn't prevent GoldenEye from bring the series back from the deep. On Her Majesty's Secret Service was considered a major disappointment in nearly every regard at the time. If this doesn't light the world on fire critically or at the box office then they'll just change course. If you don't like the most recent style and actor, just hang loose. Another will be on the way which might be to your standards. It's like Doctor Who. James Bond will outlive us all.

The Bond (or, now, just 007 to be filled "Dr. Who fashion" with whomever) of recent years has nothing whatsoever to do with the Bond films of the 1960s-1980s. Those ended in 1989 with the end of the regular crew (Maibaum, Glen, Cubby, etc.) The Brosnan and especially the Craig films are an entirely different species. They all have good qualities (I especially like the 2006 Casino Royale), but they ain't the Bond of the first three decades of the franchise.

"Drew’s producing partner came in and Murray was like, ‘What’s going on?’ McG was like, “did you get new pages in your trailer?’ And Murray was like, ‘No. But I put new pages in everyone else’s trailer.’Drew and her partner were pretty upset by this. Murray was like, ‘I’m making it better, ok? You’ve got, like, 16 writers on this thing…’ and Lucy spoke up, saying something like, ‘this is way out of line.’"'> Take a shot every time he says "like". Actually, don't. Or do. I'm not your guardian angel.
