We watched this last weekend and enjoyed it as a solid, if very familiar, movie for everyone in the family. My ears perked up early at the score in the first act, which is much more specific and folksy. As the film goes on, for me the score flattens out and gets less interesting (as does the film). Anything Mancina does is worth a listen. Actually I'm curious to hear how the back half holds up on album.

Your impressions are correct. Ive played it several times. It starts strong but looses steam after awhile.
