Now I thought this was a 'what if ' thread . About a boxing match between the two greats. I would have said Saint Saens, all day long. Ennio had a temper but was slightly built. Saint Saens, however, hand one hell of a right hook.

Somehow I have an issue here.. Morricones THE HARVEST from Days of Heaven. Yes its kind of like the scales of Saint Sans CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS. Well, since Terrence Malick used Carnival of the Animals for the film's title music, he undoubtedly wanted Morricone to reference it, or provide something similar in the score.

BUT...if this is labeld as being based or adapted by Morricone,_ and I´m sorry to bring this topic up again-;than all HORNER scores should be labeled as such and I guess lots of other composers work as well.. Never heard "The Harvest" being referred to as an "adaptation". The Saint-Saëns influence is undoubtedly there, though. It's an original Morricone score. Saint-Sains was more of a starting reference point (and of course utilized in the movie.)
