Guessing this is a reissue? Can’t imagine anything was left off the prior intrada complete release...

Intrada released the first CD of this score. La-La Land issued an expanded CD years later.

Now this 2CD release. We will see what it has.....

This shall be mine smile Hopefully the volume levels from the previous expanded version are evened out. Still love the movie and the score.

The original 9 minute "The Plan" is one of my favorite Goldsmith tracks and favorite action/suspense cues of all time, just masterful. Mutant, any chance of you doing a restore video on this ?

Is there anything really missing from the previous releases?

Even so, underrated score.

I’ll give it a shot.

Massively underrated I'd say. I was somewhat underwhelmed and not a bit confused when listening to it for the first time in 87, but it very soon insinuated itself into my brain and it has been lodged there ever since. Dynamic, propulsive, muscular, powerful beast of a score.

Oh, and Jerry Goldsmith DID know how to use electronics, contrary to that rather quaint and amusing theory circulating on this very board.

Oh thank God! You know there aren't nearly enough Jerry Goldsmith releases out there.

I know, I know. He sells.

And of course, he richly deserves the acclaim and fanatical following.

It's Williams the public knows about, and gets umpteen replays on public radio, but overall of the two it's Goldsmith I regularly hearken back to. I find myself craving that luxuriant Goldsmith string writing, his complex and varying rhythms and innovative approaches. For sheer invention, originality, sharp dramatic instinct, and distinct voice, I think Herrmann and Goldsmith stand at the pinnacle together.

Ooh, one of the 40! Good luck you not picking up one of the earlier editions already — I’m happy for you Henry!

I have both the previous editions.
Half the tracks sound like there's a troupe of people bouncing up and down on some old spring mattresses, speeded up slightly and with some reverb added.
The other half seems to feature a loop of someone's bottom being smacked at various rates of speed.

WHAAAAT??? And it's getting a third release? Doesn't sound like my cup of tea, but it might be right up Henry's alley.

I remember liking some of this when it was first released. I played "Arrivals" lots of times and even used it as a demonstration of fine Goldsmith music when introducing friends to his work. Times change.

This is one I've been curious about for some time. I've never seen the film and I think I've only heard "The Plan" casually while surfing utube. I find I enjoy pretty much anything JG did with Carolco so I will definitely be picking this one up.
