Reflecting on an amazing year of expanded/remastered releases, I think ALWAYS comes out on top for me. I keep returning to it over and over. Just a gorgeous score, and so beautifully remastered and presented by Mike Matessino and La-La Land.

I had the OST but didn't care for it at the time. Pretty sure I sold it to a used CD store.
Times change so I should probably give this expansion a try. Maybe I'll feel differently today.
I know I enjoy the expanded The River a lot more now than when the OST came out.

The original release definitely underwhelmed me... it literally put me to sleep. But I certainly feel differently about the expansion. And I also counted THE RIVER as one of my least favorite JW scores until the expansion appeared, so we're at least on the same page there.

Can never go wrong with a complete fleshed out expansion of a Williams score. Here’s hoping Eastwick is on the horizon.

I was pleased to read that this title had been a great seller for LLL during the past year.
With it being a low-key(ish) score from a lesser known (and not universally liked) Spielberg film, I thought it might get lost in the mix.
It's heartening to read the plaudits and comments from people who have re-evaluated it, for the positive, since its release.
It's a gorgeous score, oozing class and quality.
I've played it...A LOT.

Graham Watt was the winner of this title in my Christmas contest last month. It has been in Spain since Christmas Day and still has not been delivered. Now I understand the frustration you all feel when you have to wait so long for deliveries.

Graham, I have never not delivered on my promises. If it gets lost or damaged I WILL send another CD. I have a sealed copy in my home just itchin' to be played by someone. You'll get it!

I'm sure it will get here eventually, Adam. I had a friend in England send me a small package last September 1st, and it was held up in Madrid for a full three weeks. It only increases the excitement!

It's arrived!!!!!! Here's the story. Adam posted my copy in mid-December, and it was tracked USPS to Madrid, where it passed to the Spanish postal system, untracked. The last notification was that it had "departed Madrid facility" on December 25th. Since then nowt. Adam recently got in touch with me saying that it was taking too long and that he'd send ANOTHER! And so he did. He sent me the USPS tracking number the other day, with the message "departed Madrid facility February 1". And then the postman (actually a postwoman) comes a-knockin' on my door. It was ALWAYS!!! And there I goes thinking, "at least the second one arrived, the first having been lost in the post". There's more... If you can bear the suspense there's a twist ending.....

SPOILER ALERT

I checked the date on the envelope. It was December 17. So it's actually the FIRST package that has arrived. And it is now more than likely that Mr Dingle will receive an identical package in the very near future, a package addressed specifically to him, Mr Dingle, mild-mannered bank clerk, who found his superpowers on the very day he didn't require them, on the day he broke his glasses and couldn't read the liner notes, on the very day foretold that he would lose his hearing, and thus be unable to hear anything, not even the barking of his devoted wife. All these things happened, are happening, and will happen, but out of sight and sound in this case, in... Twilight Zone.

Adam, you're the bee's knees.

Merry Christmas, Graham! LOL. I'm pleased (and relieved) it finally arrived and my 2021 contest is now officially complete.

I think I'll have to post my 2022 Christmas contest the day after Halloween to ensure a timely delivery of the goods. smile
