About a month ago, I had a water leak in my apartment, which meant that I had to move to a temporary apartment while they fixed the damage and replaced the floor. I've (thankfully) moved back now, but the three weeks I spent in that temporary apartment was a nightmare. Sure, it was bigger than my own, with a separate bedroom, but the walls were paper thin, and a foreign family with little kids lived next door, in what I know was a small one-room apartment. From morning to night, there was a constant barrage of screams, pounding, scratching and everything inbetween, with seemingly no discipline whatsoever. It was so ridiculously over-the-top, my only defense mechanism was to laugh at times -- the worst neighour I've ever had in terms of noise, and I've had a few.

I thought your original apartment was a hell-hole because of your flushing-toilet-neighbor. YOU ACTUALLY FOUND A WORSE APARTMENT, THOR????

The laughing...that leads to utter despair and eventual gunplay.

Noise-wise, yes. The constantly rummaging neighbour below me, or the occasional footsteps above me, were both child's play compared to that family next door in the other apartment. Just crazy.

And yes, Last Child, that gif pretty much covers my exact reaction every single day while I lived there. big grin

I have this same problem. The people next door to me moved out after their teen had some run-ins with the police and a family of ultra white trash moved in. Mind you, the kids are pretty okay - the eldest son is well-spoken and loves animals and seems to have a good sense of things - but the father and his extended family might as well be Cleetus from The Simpsons. Always in their driveway, tuning up a beat to hell, falling apart Firebird while blasting AC/DC until 10 at night. I've even seen this guy mowing his lawn at 11 at night, with flood lights attached to his mower.

Unfortunately, I rent, so theres no way to get back at these people without pissing off the landlord - but I distinctly remember having to house sit my mom's place while she was away for work and her neighbors were having some awful-ass party with cars everywhere. I opened the windows, put the stereo speakers in there, put a bunch of Glass (his solo piano album especially), Kilar, Penderecki and maybe some Goldenthal and left the house for the day. I came back to find their party was A LOT quieter.
