WEDNESDAY, MAY 5 HOUSE OF THE DRAGON---photos released from the HBO GAME OF THRONES prequel series with Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower. SUPERMAN---Warner Bros. is reportedly looking for a black actor and a black director for the upcoming JJ Abrams reboot movie that will introduce a black Superman. Michael B. Jordan commented on rumors that he will play the role, "You hear the whispers and the rumors and stuff like that and it’s just a compliment. You know, I appreciate people that think about me in that type of way for these roles. I don’t really have anything more to give on that other than it’s just flattering and I appreciate it. But, you know, whoever they get or if it goes that way, I think it’ll be an interesting thing to see." He added, "I don’t know. I don’t really know what is going with that in particular, but I think everybody’s want and desire to see Black leads in heroic roles I think is really, really important. Representation is important." INDIANA JONES 5---Mads Mikkelsen commented on appearing in the sequel, “I’m very, very excited about it… I rewatched RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK the other day, it is so well-done and so charming, and it’s such great storytelling. So yes it’s a great honor to be part of that franchise that I grew up with… I’m in a lucky position where they let me read the script before. And yes, it was everything I wished it to be, so that was just great.” ARMY OF THE DEAD---the Zack Snyder zombie movie will be released in Cinemark theaters on May 14 and on Netflix on May 21. THE FLASH---Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes are leaving the series after Season 7. FINDING THE MOTHER TREE---Amy Adams will star in the movie based on the book which is described as, “a dazzling scientific detective story about the woman who first discovered how trees communicate underground through an immense web of fungi.” MONOGAMY---Holly Hunter is in negotiations to star in the movie based on the novel. ON CALL---IMDB TV/Dick Wolf cop series underway about two cops fighting crime in Long Beach, California. THE IRREGULARS---Netflix cancelled the series. BIG SKY---ABC renewed the series for Season 2. TRIVIA---in STAR TREK VI: THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY, four of the stars are Canadian: William Shatner (Montreal), Christopher Plummer (Toronto), James Doohan (Vancouver) and Kim Cattrall (born in England but was three months old when her family moved to Courtenay, British Columbia).

SUPERMAN BLACK REBOOT No. Now, maybe I'm in the wrong here in what from other quarters might appear as a clear & simple stage re-performance with varied cast, but the character is white. Not Der White, not Aryan, not MAGA kook, but white. When we see a biographical dramatization epic of the life of Martin Luther King Jr. starring a white man or an asian as Dr. King, or when we see a remake of Roots with white people playing the slaves, then I'm okay with a black man playing a white Superman. Thwarting my own position for a moment, Denzel Washington did a GREAT job in The Equalizer. Idris Elba did a great job as Heimdall... ***although I fail to recall black Gods in the Norse mythos***. Except for Dark Elves? There is outrage when a white man plays Charlie Chan. I would rather a new character be created, cast as black in the first place, who possesses the same virtues core to the Superman character. :/ I repeat myself. Oh well.

Superman Reboot?

As I recall reading in passing, there is an alternate Earth that has a black Superman, so if they go that route, I'm fine with it on the basis of having a black Superman. If they are taking regular Earth Superman and making him black just 'cause, then they can go fuck themselves. They can especially go fuck themselves his they use this as a way to push idiocy like "social justice" and "systemic racism". By the way, is there an alternate Earth with a black Batman?

Why not create an original super hero character and story for Michael B. Jordan? Create a new classic you can call your own. When did "original" ever fly in JJ's wheelhouse? Besides, the deal he's (Bad Robot) cut with Warner probably requires, like his previous foray into franchise fucking (i.e. Star Trek), is such that his Superman™ must also be distinguishably "25% different". An Afro-American Kryptonian would certainly meet that criteria.

JJ being JJ, I'm sure when Superman lifts off to rescue Lois from the (insert alternative to dangling helicopter here), a white English chap will exclaim... "By Jove, that's a rather dandy outfit you are wearing there, my fine young fellow" I'll be disappointed if it doesn't
