I have a soft spot for this show, I have always loved it, and John Ritter! I would love a Blu-ray release!

I think that if it was good enough to be released on DVD, then it's good enough for blu.
I would hope that just because a few years have gone by since the DVDs, it would not be swept up in the current tidal wave of PC culture.
That would be a shame because John Ritter's comedy chops deserve to be seen in action.

So it's a very interesting question.
(While I was not a regular watcher of the show, I could not help but appreciate Ritter's genius.)

Blu Ray no. HD digital yes. Not a series I ever watched though I had the hots for Suzanne Somers back then. I'll never forget the joy when Playboy released her test shoot. wink

I think this was shot on tape, not film, so the resolution would not be great for bluray.
DVD is likely the best it will get. Unless the studios wants to sink money into the project upscaling it, which is not likely.

The show was definitely shot on video tape (like a soap opera) and since HD video did not exist in the day, no HD available to remaster into Blu-ray...sorry.

The same goes for shows like: Married With Children, Home Improvement, Soap, WKRP etc.

Hey Solium! Don't tell my dad, but I swiped that issue of Playboy from him for her test shoot when I was 13!

Oh, that's good to know. There's some 70's and 80's comedies Ive holding off purchasing in hopes they get remastered digitally. Guess that's not going to happen.

Solium, Suzanne Somers was also in a show called SHE'S THE SHERIFF, in the 80's do you remember that one? Also, speaking of THREE'S COMPANY, Priscilla Barnes was too bad either.

I don't recall Shes the Sheriff. Looking at the dates it aired I was working full time and going to college at night. I didn't have any free time for television back then.

Not true, with AI software, 480p can be decently up converted now.The recent Blu-ray releases of Monty Python's Flying Circus and Fawlty Towers demonstrate that. : )

This show was pushed as the spiciest, sexiest thing on ABC. Everything was double entendre.

So of course I watched quite a few of the first season....

I thought Janet got hotter as the show went on!
