They sure did! I've heard people say incredibly ignorant things like, "Oh, they only had one good song." (Probably referring to "Stairway to Heaven".) The number of truly classic songs this group was able to produce in such a short time is literally astounding.
Yep. Only one good song... (Here's 25 you hear frequently on classic rock radio stations)
Good Times Bad Times
Dazed and Confused
Communication Breakdown
Whole Lotta Love
What is and What Should Never Be
Heartbreaker
Living Loving (She's Just a Woman)
Ramble On
Immigrant Song
Black Dog
Rock and Roll
Stairway to Heaven
Misty Mountain Hop
Going to California
When the Levee Breaks
Over the Hills and Far Away
Dancing Days
D'Yer Mak'er
The Ocean
Houses of the Holy
Trampled Under Foot
Kashmir
In the Evening
Fool in the Rain
All My Love
Obviously a one-hit wonder.
I'd add "Achille's Last Stand" and "Nobody's Fault But Mine" from PRESENCE to that list as well. But that's just me.
