They've been going since the early eighties and they're STILL knocking out ace records. Kurt Cobain used to roadie for them. Nirvana's first album Bleach is very early-Melvins in its sound.
Their first three releases on Island Records in the seventies still get a lot of plays from me.
Sparks for me too. Saw them live a few years ago and was blown away by the energy shown by the Maels despite their advancing years. They’ve produced around 25 studio albums in many different styles, but what they all have in common is great tunes, fabulous musical arrangements and above all wise and witty lyrics.
Don't know if I have a favorite band. I don't listen to pop music much if at all anymore. There was a time when I enjoyed Chicago and ELO. I'm sure there are a lot of great bands, music Ive heard but didn't know who they are. Pretty sure Ive enjoyed some of the Rolling Stones stuff too.
