THE WALKING DEAD---featurette released for the Extended Season 10.

MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE---Guy Ritchie will direct this Jerry Bruckheimer/Paramount Pictures movie based on the World War II book about Winston Churchill setting up a top secret special ops group, that included rogues and criminals, to battle Nazi Germany behind enemy lines.
STAR WARS---Ron Moore, who had been attached to a shelved live-action STAR WARS tv series with George Lucas, recently signed a deal with Walt Disney's 20th Century TV. Moore commented on a possible new STAR WARS tv series for Disney+, "It's always something that's on my mind but clearly, they have their STAR WARS plate full at the moment. I'm not sure this is the moment that you go in and pitch a new STAR WARS series over there. I would love to do something in that franchise. It was fun to go work on the abortive live-action show that I did way back when. I got a tremendous amount of thrill of writing lines for Darth Vader in one episode and it would be fun to do that again. It's just not the first piece of development I'm doing over there but hopefully I'll be allowed to do that at some point."
Also, Disney+ announced Moore is developing a new tv series, THE SOCIETY OF EXPLORERS AND ADVENTURERS, which will be part of a Magic Kingdom Universe using Disney movie characters and Disney theme parks.
ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE---an anonymous Warner Bros. executive told VANITY FAIR that the studio was unhappy with Joss Whedon's version of JUSTICE LEAGUE, "When we got to see what Joss actually did, it was stupefying. The robber on the rooftop—so goofy and awful. The Russian family—so useless and pointless. Everyone knew it. It was so awkward because nobody wanted to admit what a piece of sh*t it was."
Also, Ryan Reynolds denied rumors that he has a Green Lantern cameo in the Zack Snyder version after VANITY FAIR reported an unknown superhero would have a cameo, "It’s not me. But what a cool pirate flag to cameo as Hal. Maybe it’s another GL? But for me, the suit stays in the closet. I mean, computer."
ALLEN V. FARROW---in the HBO/HBO Max documentary, Mia Farrow commented on her marriage to Woody Allen and the following sex scandals, "That's the great regret of my life, that I wasn't perceptive enough. It's my fault. I brought this guy into my family. There's nothing I can do to take that away."
She added, "I get why people can't believe it because who on Earth could believe that of Woody Allen? I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe it. Everybody admired Woody so much, loved him, and I did too."
STARGIRL---Disney+ announced the sequel movie is underway with Grace VanderWaal returning. Elijah Richardson will be the new love interest.
TWISTED METAL---Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will write the Sony Pictures tv series based on the video game.
THE FIRST LADY---Gillian Anderson will play Eleanor Roosevelt in the Showtime First Lady anthology series.
TRIVIA---Melanie Shatner, William Shatner's youngest daughter, appeared in two of her father's STAR TREK movies: STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME and STAR TREK V: THE FINAL FRONTIER.
In THE VOYAGE HOME, Melanie played one of the two joggers who are caught up in the dust cloud created when the cloaked Bird-of-Prey takes off from San Francisco's Golden Gate Park to find the two humpback whales, George and Gracie.
In THE FINAL FRONTIER, Melanie played the yeomen who gives Captain Kirk his Starfleet uniform after he enters the Enterprise bridge in civilian clothes.

How to Make a Superhero Film at Warner Bros. 101:
Step 1: Announce a title before any ideas or script is written.
Step 2: Hire a writer to force a script even though the writer is not inspired and maybe doesn't even know the franchise.
Step 3: Hire another writer to re-write it.
Step 4: Hire another writer to re-write the re-write. Don't worry if it doesn't make any sense, is full of plot holes, and is insulting to the fanbase.
Step 5: Hire a director who is "hot" rather than a director who knows the property and wants to do it justice.
Step 6: Instead of hiring talented actors and actress, hire "Hot name" people with big box office draws, but only after you you make the hiring decisions based on the color of their skin, what's between their legs, ethnicity, and any other de-humanizing factor. Congratulate yourself for your wookness by bragging about it online.
Step 7: Announce a release date before the project has begun shooting, so it has to be rushed and not done properly. Forced arbitrary deadlines are TIGHT.
Step 8: Hire somebody from the Zimmer clone factory, if Zimmer is busy himself. Or somebody who once got Zimmer coffee. Or got Balfe a Freska once. Make sure to insist on directionless, unmemorable, generic music with plenty of BRAAAAAMMMMMSSSSS. But only after you hire a talented composer and rejected the score first.
Step 9: Dump it into theaters like one of those nuts on airplanes who go crazy, pull their pants down, and take a fresh hot steamer on the food cart.
And finally, Step 10: Blame the public for judging the film and not appreciating their genius. If applicable, call them racist, homophobes, women haters, etc. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

S.O.E films that have been Carve Her Name With Pride, Operation Daybreak, Female Agents and A Call To Spy needs more exploring The S.O.E directive is to recruit specialists from the services or potentials NOT criminals, murderers etc ala THE DIRTY DOZEN. Just read about a film coming out next year called DIE BEAUTIFULLY also S.O.E themed - sounds good!

I find Trek V more quaintly goofy and entertaining all the time, what an adorable mess it is.
It was massively hamstrung by an ever decreasing budget which resulted in it looking cheap (and some of the FX are the worst imaginable) but if you look at it purely from a directing perspective it knocks the two movies Nimoy “directed” out of the park.
Yes, the stories of the budget and the visual effects are pretty sad. I do like the camera work, Andy Laszlo was a great cinematographer, the camera moves a decent bit and has some interesting angles here. Voyage Home was well shot too, was nominated for an Oscar for that. But the more off world nutty framework allowed some color here, those rock formations shot with the purple sky backdrops etc. And even though the very out of focus starfield outside the observation deck was not the original intent, it actually works quite well, as does those little scenes that pop out of that room. And I like the look of the wide lens pulls backs and zooms all throughout the scenes in Yosemite.
One of the most impressive shots was the rocking camera as Kirk is led as prisoner down the halls of the Klingon Cruiser to the bridge. In unison with Goldsmith's Klingon Triumphant banner theme, it is majestically epic.

We've talked about this film many times before. The effect team had a lot of great ideas and some still work. One of my all time favorite effects shots is the Enterprise in front of the Moon. They wouldn't really let them do that shot, but he slipped it in as a reflection on the shuttlecraft view port. The shuttle craft crashing into the shuttlebay was a cool shot too. Yes, ignoring the fact the shuttlebay was the size of a two car garage. Still it was a cool shot.

I only remember some mediocre special effects, but not any bad ones. Now I do recall a poorly-done shot of a Bird of Prey zooming at the camera, which I recollect looking like a fancy print out which the camera moved in on. Not saying that's how it was done, but it sort of looked like that.
