I guess this news is only relevant for the Angelinos.

After they close their legendary store on Sunset boulevard last April, There has been very little news about their reopening on the new Hollywood boulevard location. Despite the original announcement that they would open the new store during Fall 2020, nothing happened.
I was starting to think they wouldn't reopen after all, until this article showed up.

This is a great news!
Amoeba is the place I would go to in order find all the out of print soundtracks I couldn't find anywhere but on Ebay at insane prices.
No reopening date yet but it's coming!

In one way you are wrong. It`s not only for those who live in L.A. that will find this news positive. I live in Sweden and I am really happy this is happening since I am traveling to L.A. occasionally so therefore I find it interesting too even if I am not someone who lives nearby.

They also have a web store for mail-order, but it's only domestic mail here in the COVID AfterTimes.

Good news. I was only in there once, back in 2012, but I was amazed by their selection (less amazed by their steep prices, though, so I didn't actually buy anything at the time).

The San Francisco store prices are ridiculously cheap, presumably because the cost of living in SF is so very high.

That's good. I went to the old location every time I visited the city. I will never go back so it's also too bad.

I live three block from it's new location on Hollywood Blvd. I can see through the windows that the store is presently well stocked but still closed. I hope it opens soon.

I've never been but I was in the Amoeba store in Berkeley in the early 90s and thought it was the best record store I had ever been in.

Ah, good, not that I've ever been there, but most of the shops being closed in the UK is really getting me down. I love mooching around the shops, & I also have a charity shop addiction (& I have a house full of junk to prove it), & I do wonder just how many closed shops will never re-open.
