La-La Land Records and Universal Studios proudly present the twelfth title within the acclaimed Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection – BANNING: LIMITED EDITION, music by the legendary Quincy Jones (IN COLD BLOOD, THE COLOR PURPLE). This limited edition CD release of Quincy Jones’ original motion picture score to 1967’s big-screen golf drama BANNING, starring Robert Wagner, Jill St. John and James Farentino and directed by Ron Winston, marks the official world-premiere release of BANNING’s original film music!
Composer Jones’ tuneful and jazzy score, performed by a 55 piece orchestra, showcases the maestro at his best, highlighting his arranging and compositional skills while expertly providing the musical foundation for the film’s drama and reality. The film’s striking main theme and song “The Eyes of Love,” was Academy-Award nominated and the version heard in the film, sung by Gil Bernal, makes its debut on this CD release. Produced, mixed, edited and mastered by Mike Matessino, this limited release of 3000 units features exclusive, in-depth liner notes by writer Jon Burlingame and art direction by Mark Banning.

Not necessarily. They may have pressed it in small batches, didn't sell well, are doing one more small batch and are letting the license go. Doesn't mean I am right, but it's also a possibility. A possibility I'd love to be wrong about.

So I added Eye for an Eye and Primal Fear to my order. I just now, for the first time ever listened to the samples for the Matrix: Revolutions....HOW DID I NOT PICK UP THIS SCORE WHEN IT WAS IN PRINT? I am now kicking myself.
Hard Rain should be a really great listen. I own the movie as a part of a double feature with Drop Zone. I haven't had a chance to watch Hard Rain yet but now I will make time for it.

I’ve always paired up Hard Rain with Broken Arrow, since they’re both silly mid-1990s action films with that John Woo double-handgun style
I bought LLL's Broken Arrow shortly after it was released. I have listened to at least one or two tracks from it probably once every month since. Tremendous score. That 16 minute track Hammerhead and especially the last two months are so epic.

Peter, I don't know if it's still available, or if it's necessarily the same, but look into "Eraser" (Silvestri). Meaty manly action scoring, Silvestri's busy percussion bits, a memorable theme, and it's got a little of the hose-soon (spelling?) instrument that he also used in "Predator 2".

I already own Eraser as well. Great action score. I really love the atmospheric guitar throughout. Thank you for the recommendation.
