1. What is something interesting about yourself that you'd like to mention?

Fun fact:

I consider it an "accumulation" and not a "collection," as the latter term carries with it certain connotations that don't apply to me.

Fun fact:

I have more LPs/CDs by Ellington, Sun Ra, and Morricone than any other artists.

Fun fact:

I have an idiosyncratic filing system, so a single artist may be filed in up to five or six different sections, depending on the genre.

I have every single Carl Barks Duck comic.

2. Give us a fun fact about your collection.
Fun fact:
I know the exact date, (and mostly the city, shop, circumstances, reason), of almost every LP or CD I ever bought. Possibly even the weather of the day.

Because you write it down, or because you have a savant-like memory for these kind of details?

I remember the date because I have, or better used to have, the strange habit of jotting down the date of purchase on the barcode of the CDs I bought. I don't know why I remember the rest, but I do.

I have nothing fun to share. I'm a terribly boring person.

Great question, Barryfan!

Aside from my interest in film music, my collection contains most of what has been released by Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Frank Zappa, Astor Piazzolla, and Silvestre Revueltas. I also, within the last ten years or so, have become quite interested in--for lack of a better word--gypsy music, particularly those bands featuring violin and cimbalom. I have dozens of CDs/LPs of those.

Fun fact: I am a political activist and an aspiring fiction author.

My collect consists of mostly action scores. That is my favorite genre by far. Especially from the 1980s and 1990s. Right now, I am in the mood for the Zimmer-style action scores of the early to mid 90s. (Drop Zone, The Rock, Crimson Tide, etc)

- I'm a huge Indiana Jones fan (sans Crystal Skull)

- As time goes by I've notice that CD spines that feature the colour red have faded!

If you looked at my CD shelves, you might think my favorite composers are James Bond, Star Trek, and Superman.

1, I have at one time worked as a music supervisor for a convention here in Sweden. I was in charge of the background music and had selected music from the films and television series that the guests had appeared in plus other stuff too. The guests on that convention was Peter Mayhew, Maud Adams, Michael Ironside, Gunnar Hansen and Justin Chon (from Twilight). Michael Ironside gave me the nickname Mr. Soundtrack Guy.

2, Since I live in Sweden and here in Sweden we are not that many serious film score collectors so that means that many of those limited edition soundtracks that was released in for example 1000 copies or something similar that I have in my collection may very well be the only ones of those soundtracks here in Sweden. That means I might be the only one here in Sweden that owns a copy of a certain limited edition soundtrack and that makes me a proud collector.

1) My oldest sister (I have four) is 18 years older than me. When she was 23 and I was 5 she was married and had her first baby. I became an uncle when I was five years old. I now have 12 nephews and nieces.

2) Having only about 130 titles I've traded away or given away more titles than I actually have in my own collection.

LOL... I'm afraid my memory abilities are severely lacking when compared to the famous Dustin Hoffman role. I just remember these things when I look at the specific LP/CD. I can't recite them all from memory.
