THE ROCKETEER---on its 30th anniversary, Jennifer Connelly commented on the sequel to her 1991 movie that also starred Billy Campbell, “I had no idea they were doing a sequel, and I can’t believe it’s also been 30 years, that’s crazy! I thought that movie was a lot of fun and I had a lot of fun doing it, I won’t speak to what’s happening with the sequel, as I haven’t heard anything about it.”
Last year, it was reported that the sequel is being written by Azia Squire and is set six years after the original movie. The plot has a black female pilot searching for missing Cliff Secord and the rocketpack. She must prevent a corrupt scientist from using the rocketpack for nefarious purposes.
CAPTAIN AMERICA---Chris Evans is in negotiations to return as Captain America. Sources say Captain America will probably return as a supporting character in a future Marvel movie.
SHOTGUN WEDDING---Armie Hammer has left the Jennifer Lopez movie after alleged social media messages containing kinky sex he sent to women were leaked. The messages included Hammer's fantasies of rape and cannibalism. He supposedly said to one woman that he is, “100% a cannibal” and wanted to “drink your blood.”
Hammer replied, “I’m not responding to these bullsh*t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that."
DAVID O. RUSSELL---Rami Malek and Zoe Saldana will co-star with Christian Bale and Margot Robbie in this untitled David O. Russell movie. The plot reportedly involves a doctor and lawyer who team up.
AMERICAN UNDERDOG: THE KURT WARNER STORY---Anna Paquin will co-star with Zachary Levi in the movie based on the NFL Hall of Fame quarterback's memoir. Paquin will play Warner's wife, Brenda.
WHITE NOISE---Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig will star in this Noah Baumbach movie based on the novel about a Hitler studies professor and his family who become paranoid after a black noxious cloud surrounds their house.
THE FLASH---Jon Cor will play villain Chillblaine in Season 7.
ASSISTED LIVING---Cardi B will star in this Paramount Pictures comedy movie about a female bank robber who disguises herself as an elderly woman in her estranged grandmother's senior citizens home after a heist goes awry.
TRIVIA---in a 1976 interview, Michael Caine said he accepted the starring role in THE EAGLE HAS LANDED because he had turned down the starring role in WHERE EAGLES DARE, which was a big hit, and he was not going to make another "Eagle" movie mistake again. Reportedly, Marlon Brando was also considered for the WHERE EAGLES DARE role of Maj. John Smith that went to Richard Burton.
