Wonderful news, though only releasing on CD is puzzling. I'm guessing the track will eventually emerge on a CD.

While I would love to see someone release this--the flip side to JB's CBS Lion in Winter single with Alan Haven on organ, I don't think this is the track that was released. Wonderful and dreamy version of "The Herb Garden," though. JB recorded the Lion in Winter for The Concert John Barry. That is probably the version released by Uni France.

Bond1965, Thank you for posting that! We now know what Lion in Winter music sounds like without chorus, as John Barry would have done it. I thought it sounded really good, very interesting. He probably left it off the album because without the chorus, he probably thought the best version was already recorded for the soundtrack. Still, if Uni ever re-releases the Concert John Barry, they should add this and Zulu (also recorded for the album), if they can find it.

A common Lion in Winter suite has three parts: Main Title, Chinon-Eleanor's Arrival--We're Jungle Creatures. For awhile there was a live performance on youtube of this suite by the BBC Orchestra/choris conducted by Rumon Gamba. Now I can only find the Main Title. I've always thought that "The Herb Garden" is beautiful.

Alex, I saw on youtube you conducting some Barry acapella pieces. Really well done.
