Now available on Blu-ray from Chelsea Rialto Studios - Andrew L. Stone's 1943 screwball classic HI DIDDLE DIDDLE. Starring Martha Scott, Dennis O'Keefe, Adolphe Menjou, June Havoc, Billie Burke and Pola Negri.

HI DIDDLE DIDDLE was an independent production by Andrew L. Stone, his first after achieving great success with STORMY WEATHER at 20th Century-Fox. The film has myriad selling points including Pola Negri's return to the screen; animated sequences provided by Leon Schlesinger Studios; several very large winks at the audience (Learn to do a Double-Take!); a handful of gags that should have confounded the censors, and an intoxicating performance by June Havoc doing "The Man With the Big Sombrero". So tantazlizing was it, in fact, that it was replicated by Samantha Shelton in a Quentin Tarantino music video that accompanied his WWII adventure INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS.

Special Features include a gallery of press and publicity materials; a 1943 Army-Navy Screen Magazine short that includes a Private Snafu cartoon; a Treasury Star Parade recording of Billy Mills and his Orchestra performing "The Man With the Big Sombrero"; and the Lady Esther Gulf Screen Guild Players' radio adaptation of HI DIDDLE DIDDLE.

$20 plus shipping. You can order at http://www.chelsearialtostudios.com

PS, I admit that I checked Amazon Prime when this came up. And Hi Diddle Diddle is available for streaming.

But the print quality was so fuzzy poor I ordered this instanter!

I still think of Martha Scott mostly as Bob Newhart's disapproving mother in the 70's.

(Even though I know her from Ben Hur and Desperate Hours at least.)

But to see her in a romp with Adolphe Menjou, that's too good to pass up!

Thanks Sean! The trailer is made up from the film print used for the blu-ray. But the station cues have been eliminated in addition to some other fixes.
