Well. Having just played through the whole CD, I thought it functioned really well as a stand alone listen. It sounded way better than I remembered a lot of it, while watching the film. A lot less whittling than I expected, I guess.
I agree.I haven't seen the film but have the CD on repeat and it's a really good listening experience.
Received a pressed cd as well, ordered from Amazon global in US,shipped via Australia which only took a week. Generally like Giacchino, score is a solid effort, above average superhero work, have not seen the film, imagine it functions well in context, appreciation grows on subsequent listening, "Arachnoverture" is a highlight!

Good to know. I ordered from this link but I'm still waiting on the disc. It's in the states now so it should arrive next week. I was surprised that Amazon also had import copies of Captain America: First Avenger available through the same Amazon UK store. I assumed that was long OOP.
