Hey all,

I was hoping someone could explain the Up soundtrack. It seems it first came out as a digital soundtrack by Disney in 2009 with the movie, and in 2011 Intrada released a 26 track CD. But now it looks like Disney makes/sells that CD also, which has the same booklet and tray liner design, except for the missing Intrada logo on the front left side and the back next to the Disney logo.

I also read on Amazon that it is a "print on demand" title (burned not pressed apparently?). I compared the Intrada version and the Disney version and the music/tracks all seem the same, so it seems pointless to pay $$$ to get the Intrada version when the Disney version is nearly identical but way cheaper. I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

Thanks!

I think you already have the answer.

Disney released a Digital only verision when the film came out. Later on, Intrada released a CD. Still later Disney released (if you could call it that) a 'print on demand' version, which is indeed a CDR.

As for why pay the extra money....well if you want a pressed CD you have to go with the Intrada. Othweise, yeah, Disney is cheaper, get the Disney. Not sure what the issue is here.

But even if Disney themselves released a normal CD, why would this be confusing?

Well that response was delivered in a beautifully welcoming manner.

Hey Impetigo, seems you've done some solid research. I don't think there's any greater mystery surrounding the situation. Like has been said, exact same content on all versions, only the current Disney CD is one of those official CD-R type affairs. I've read mixed things about them, I don't think I've got any in my collection, but they don't seem to be universally loved! I guess Disney just followed up with that to meet demand after the Intrada sold out.

Perfect, thank you. Never came across something like this (CDR) so it threw me for a loop. Guess I'll keep looking for an Intrada version, cheers.
