Hmmmmm, I'll have to dig out the original release of this.
I remember it having a decent amount of score on it (I could be wrong there).
Haven't played it in years.

There could be at least 30 minutes on the old album - maybe even 40. pretty generous selection for that time.

EDIT: OK... so pretty much exactly 30 minutes of score plus two songs (total time around 12 minutes).

The only thing I remember about the score is the astoundingly vicious review in the print days of FSM. Has it gotten better with age?

I love most of Shearmur's stuff - but this one leaves me cold.

Saw this film whenever it came out on video, and I remember finding the music rather tepid at the time. Listening to a few cues now, there's a nice piano theme and overall it's better than the kind of score a similar film would get today.

I believe half the score was missing from the previous release, including tracks like Eve's Escape from the laboratory.

It may not be as good as Christopher Young's original, but it is a good Sci-fi/action score with a nice theme for Eve.
I really liked that it will be released in complete form!

His music for Skeleton Key is pretty good. Recommended if you like southern horror.

A weird November title and a weird expanded release....

Not so weird since the label did finally expand Christopher Young's terrific score for the first one and had the rights to do it which took a while I'm guessing. The sequel was just a complete waste and came years too late after the first one. I think the budget on the sequel was less than that of the original giving it a rather cable TV feel unlike the first one. I remember liking Shearmur's main themes for this but it's been a long time since I listened to it myself so it would be a curiosity as to how much music is missing.

Check out Reign of Fire, Johnny English (he didn't do the sequels) and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.
