Thomas Newman sat for a 90-minute online interview for the Virginia Film Festival. Tickets to watch the interview, which will be available for viewing for the next 48 hours, may be purchased here: https://watch.eventive.org/virginiafilmfestival/play/5f738588d53926009a842322 In talking about his career with Benjamin Rous, director of the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia, Newman discusses the scoring of 1917, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, Finding Dory, and the James Bond film Skyfall. This tribute, which includes clips from these movies and more, also features Newman’s frequent collaborator, director John Lee Hancock, where they discuss The Highwaymen and Saving Mr. Banks. I just watched the interview and it's quite interesting.
