Even better, it says "This is a promotional release. not licensed for sell". That pretty much sums up the legitimacy of this CD release.

Ouch, sorry folks.
They fooled me on this one. Guess the lack of a
barcode on the back should have been a clue as well.
Damn!

While we're on the subject, when ARE we getting a deluxe edition Dark City? Who's got the rights?

I think I've read other threads where its mentioned that Jones is not a fan of allowing expansions of his scores.
There is a boot floating around of it though, even mentioned on the Filmtracks website review of the score.

I'm a massive Jones fan, so always disappointed that hes so against releasing more of his existing music, and that he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth, film music-wise.

Dang it I thought it was the real deal too. Hopefully Intrada or LLL might obtain the rights?

Always been a Jones fan, but if this is true, he just got 10 extra points from me!

Ha! Well it could vary depending on who owns the rights to whatever score, but I seem to recall someone mentioning that he had the final say about expansions (or even just wide releases?) of a lot of his scores, or that he has all the masters and refuses to allow any label near them (perhaps one of the label heads here could confirm?). I'm pretty sure I own some of his albums that seemed to come directly from his own label/website (Cleopatra, Dinotopia, etc) although at the time I wasn't 100% sure if they were official releases or dreaded boots.

Dark City was a big studio release though, not a TV score, so perhaps the rights still belong to New Line.

I vote any other label but INTRADA for the deluxe release of Dark City.
I would hate to see this score treated the same malicious way by
the aforementioned label like
NATE AND HAYES 2CD edition which was pressed on maybe something less
than a dozen copies and was immediately discontinued so
abruptly that almost nobody got the chance
to get it.

Seriously? I had no trouble getting a copy of this from Intrada and I didn't exactly order it in the first month of release. Intrada is very good about giving plenty of notice when titles are going to be discontinued. There's a honking big banner right across the top of their website listing titles that are "in the danger zone" of being discontinued and a countdown of the number of copies left right next to each title. You can't blame Intrada if you procrastinate ordering things you want.

Someone from Intrada would have to certify this, but I'm pretty sure their initial run of every new title is in the hundreds. I'm fairly confident most pressing plants won't even talk to you about pressing a dozen copies.

Had no problems getting La-La Land and Intrada edition.

Not his best.

Wrong hill to die on.

TVT released the original album. TVT also released the SPECIES 2 album, which Intrada later expanded. So yeah, I guess that scientifically proves Intrada will release DARK CITY, likely sometime in the next few hours.

I think you are referring to TVT’s Lost In Space that was expanded by Intrada, not Species 2.
