It's the one that we have spent the past two movies building to. It really was part of a larger story and part of the design. And I think people may be underestimating the size and importance of Laura Dern and Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum's characters in this movie. It is very much an ensemble, and that [includes] the ability to take these beloved characters from almost 30 years now, and understand how they interact with each other in the context of a world that we've really never seen before, and have not been able to witness until now. It's very exciting for me. I'm having the time of my life." NATIONAL TREASURE---producer Jason Reed said a third movie was never made because Walt Disney did not know how to make NATIONAL TREASURE into a park attraction, “I tried my damnedest to get NATIONAL TREASURE 3 up. I love those movies. I worked on those from inception. What I felt happened is even though the movies were extremely successful and had a really strong fanbase, it’s a movie that gets brought up all the time, the company was never able to capitalize on it as a franchise...They never figured out a way to integrate it into the parks. It never caught on, even though there were a lot of consumer products, it never caught on as an independent franchise. That makes the numbers look different. It makes it harder to make a company like Disney focus resources on something when they can go make TOY STORY or buy a cruise ship. And if the company itself had been really excited about moving forward with it and thought they could blow it out, we would have found a way to make the deal.” Supposedly, NATIONAL TREASURE 3 is underway with Chris Bremner (BAD BOYS FOR LIFE) writing the script, and Reed said, “I think that nowadays with the technology, there’s a way to take that fun and move it into the digital space, whether it’s location-based game play or things like Pokemon Go or whatever, that you could have done to make it have a bigger cultural impact. But I know Jerry [Bruckheimer] keeps working on stuff and I know there’s a lot of interest in a series and another feature and I think it’s ripe to reinvent.” HALLOWEEN---HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN 4 and HALLOWEEN 5 will return to 225 theaters and drive-ins in October. FOX---Fox renewed FAMILY GUY and BOB'S BURGERS for two additional seasons. THE KAMINSKY METHOD---Alan Arkin is not returning for Season 3 which will be the last season. THE COMMANDO---Mickey Rourke will play the villain in this movie about a PTSD-stricken DEA agent who must protect his family from a just-released prisoner and his gang who want to recover a stash of cash hidden in the DEA agent's house. TRIVIA---character actor Jack Warden co-starred in two movies about a pro quarterback wearing jersey #16 getting a second chance at greatness: HEAVEN CAN WAIT and THE REPLACEMENTS. In HEAVEN CAN WAIT, Warden received an Academy Award nomination as Los Angles Rams trainer Max Corkle, the best friend of quarterback Joe Pendleton who is prematurely sent to Heaven before he can start as the Rams quarterback. In THE REPLACEMENTS, Warden made his last movie appearance as Edward O'Neill, owner of the Washington Sentinels, who must field a new football team of replacement players after the regular players go on on strike.
