119 ! big grin

By the way, I highly recommand Kamen/Hotei Guitar Concerto. Yes, it's the concerto written for Eric Clapton but Mr Clapton nixed a release of his own recorded version. Kamen told me in 1999 that he was the one who received the call, when Clapton and he were working on the concerto, spreading the news of the terrible death of the young Connor Clapton. Terrible story. So later, Kamen recorded it with Hotei.
The CD features the three mouvements, plus the third one minus guitar (only the orchestra). Also closing the disc is a suite from Edge of Darkness. Fantastic program IMHO !

Hi, MD.

I placed bids, but some are over in 11 hours while others aren't until 1 day + 11 hours.
Will my bids be separated by different deadlines or will you group all bids by individual regardless of which day or hour?

Never mind, MD.

The titles I bidded upon that expired @ 9 a.m. (my time zone) were out-bid 1 minute before expiration (8:59 a.m.) by only 50 cents higher than my bid.
Is this common regarding E-Bay auctions? Some member actually waits around online to place bids one minute before they end for slightly higher amounts to prevent the initial bidders from acquring those items?

How can one counter-bid in less than 60 seconds left?

That was thrill that I liked about auction listings, but now it seems that most of auctions are buy it now style.
I waited only few seconds before auction ends and constantly refreshed site.
I lost so much auction to this tactics, but also lot of won.smile

Which items did you get outbid on..... Just asking as I nipped in and outbid someone on a few CDs. But I also got outbid on all the Ferrio CDs that I was after. The person that outbid you would not know how much you bid, but would bid what he can afford to pay. It might seem that he had only bid 50 cents more than you but he may have bid ten or twenty dollars more..... That's how it is shown on ebay. You don't see the maximum bid. And yes most people wait til the last seconds of the auction to bid.

eBay is like basketball - most of the action happens in the final seconds. I'm awesome at being outbid.

Hi, Mark.

Allow me to preface by stating that I have never attempted to purchase soundtracks via E-Bay until recently, so please forgive my (e-)ignorance.
I bid on a total of 4 Italian soundtracks last week.

Piero Umiliani - I PIACERI PROIBITI (minimum bid $5.99 expired Sept 26)
Carlo Rustichelli - ARRIVANO I TITANI ($8.99 min expired Sept 26)

then

Gianni Ferrio– Mi Chiamavano Requiescat Ma Avevano Sbagliato Fasthand ($8.99 min expired Sept 27)
Gianni Ferrio– Joe! Cercati Un Posto Per Morire ($8.99 min expired Sept 27)

The initial 2 were what I posted MD about above.
I was the sole bidder on these on Friday the 25th. Then I get these emails below. By the time I saw these messages in my inbox, the auction was already over before I logged into my E-Bay account.

Sep 26, 2020, 8:59 AM
Outbid. Raise your bid of $8.00 for Piero Umiliani - I PIACERI PROIBITI

Outbid. Raise your bid of $10.00 for Carlo Rustichelli - ARRIVANO I TITANI

I intentionally did not raise my bids on those 2 Ferrio titles because ... I gave up. Why exert any effort on such when somebody can enter during the final seconds to place a higher bid (and win).

How can you live with yourself, wondering if you had only bid 53 cents or 79 cents more and could have won???!

The Lethal Weapon boxset perhaps? Despite using the iPhone app on pretty fast WiFi, I lost out in the last seconds of the auction by a couple of dollars. I generally avoid e-bay auctions, and after this failed bid it is a policy that I will be sticking to.

I could have raised my bid another another dollar or two, so I the pennies difference isn't the issue as much as the short time one has to counter-bid mere seconds before E-Bay closes the window on that item.

With brick-n-mortar auctions, an auctioneer will intone "going once ... going twice ... " allowing others in the room to counter-offer. An auctioneer doesn't yell SOLD when a 2nd bid is placed.
