Anyone else watched the first episode of Ratched on Netflix yet?
Interesting use of Herrmann's Psycho and Cape Fear in the opening sequence.
The rest of the score is very Herrmannesque.

Exactly what I thought! I am hoping this is a needle-drop soundtrack like Homecoming except with some really great stuff like Psycho and Cape Fear!

Yay for laziness!

I've seen 4 episodes now and it's put me off having a bath...

I think a bit of North by Northwest has popped in there as well - overall i'm enjoying it greatly.

The credits say its a Mac Quayle score. I am guessing they temped in Herman to the opening scene and liked it so much they kept it.

Right. And Quayle seems to like using existing music including Herrmann along with his music at times, or he did in a few episodes of Mr. Robot.

I am enjoying the series and my compliments to Quayle and Ryan Murphy -- if you're going to lift someone's music for a show like this, you could hardly do better than Herrmann! Works perfectly.

I saw only the first episode and it's promising yes...
Regarding the music :
I like the approach to go for a Herrmanesque
score. But in my opinion there's just too much music.
It's like a tapestry that never seems to let the pictures ( which are really beautifully staged and colorshemed ) and story speak for themselves.
I almost was a bit anoyed of it in some parts and sometimes the music was just "wrong"
But lets see whats up in the next episodes.
