Awhile back it was common for record/CD companies to offer consumers fantastic opening deals to get them to sign up to its LP/CD list "Columbia House" comes to mind , eg pick 10 lps from our inventory etc and 1 a month later for cheap. Had a friend who would sign up under multiple names and wait for multiple boxes of audio to roll in under many false names he would choose. Problem was he mentioned this scam to several in the house who would see these boxes come in the mail and rip HIM off. He finally cut it off as postal inspectors came around He did wind up with many many "free" items and then cut it off before he was found out.....he's gone now
