Album is way, way too long. Needs to be sliced in half and then some. Also, the dissonant material grates. But it also has some of his greatest lyrical highlights.

David Cronenberg’s critically acclaimed mystery crime thriller (based on the 1997 graphic novel) was released in theaters 15 years ago today. Shore’s score is at times pastoral (which exhibits the movies idyllic setting and Tom’s upbeat family life), grim (which explores Tom’s dark past), suspenseful, and mysterious(which examines the tension between Tom and the mob as well as with his own family).The score is pretty much a psychological analysis of Tom’s somewhat double life.
