I was scrolling through a website and came across an article on Danny Elfman's first score for Tim Burton and thought it was important to post for fellow film score fans. My first cd I ever bought was his score for Batman in 1989, and then I loved his other off-beat genre scores for Burton and other directors, but I have never seen Pee Wees Big Adventure or heard the score.

Great movie and the score is a sort of hybrid of Nino Rota and Bernard Herrmann.

Great movie and the score is a sort of hybrid of Nino Rota and Bernard Herrmann.

It is, but done with such charm and reverence for his big film music heroes, that it's utterly infectious.
