Why would LLL set their FB page so you have to log in to see their posts? Not everyone does the social media thing. Anyways I can access the other link with the pic. This will make many ppl happy I am sure!

Only a thousand copies. That's kinda shocking.

It’s a four disc (probably $50-60?) box set of TV music from the 60s. I think 1000 copies is pretty smart on LLL’s part, especially in this time of COVID (the sad reality is that must be acknowledged is that fewer people will be able to afford this than could have six months ago).

That said, I am THERE for this set... probably obviously so to folks because of the Goldsmith connection (and I AM super excited to see what new Goldsmith cues might be here) but I actually am even MORE excited for new Leith Stevens sci-fi adventure scoring on disc! A seriously talented and generally underrated composer. Going by IMDb (if it’s remotely accurate) he scored quite a few episodes of this show and I can’t wait to discover his work on them.

Interesting! Wouldn't Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea have been an anniversary release, had it come out in 2019? Maybe it was a Black Friday title that got delayed.

Advise & Consent's gonna go ape shit for this.

As this was a Fox series, presumably it snuck in under the wire before the Disney sale?

I would surmise LLL's strategy and results from Land of the Giants, the last Irwin Allen 4-CD set at 1000 copies, probably had more of an influence on how to proceed.

No doubt. And also probably Wild Wild West, which I heard sold unexpectedly well for a 60s TV music 4 CD set, but which didn't sell out all 1000 instantly by any means!

In any case, the Facebook post has been taken down, maybe to fix the spelling error.

Yep, by no means questioning their strategy. Just kinda a reality check to see where we are nowadays. This would have been a 3000 edition ten years ago.

How long was the Facebook post up? It may have been taken down to accommodate the third title that MV mentioned (if it made the cut for this month).

Where is that rerecording of the Sawtell theme in the video from? Sounds like one of Ettore Stratta's jobs but I would love to have it...

That's nice and all but...wish it was a complete series release. There, I said it, and I don't need an LLL surrogate to lecture me on all the whys it couldn't be done, so get off my wishlist lawn! Damn kids.

Found another source for the pre-announcement photo-

No. Its a moderately known tv series from the 60s. Maybe 2000 units at the most. Hell we only sold around 1800 Outer Limits and that is far more well known than Voyage. It took years and a heavily discounted sale to sell the remaining Lost in Space 2 disc sets. And as for the LIS box set we dumped the remaining boxes to our distributor at a loss. Land of the Giants has been out for well over a year and we still have a few hundred left. Its took WWW about 2 years to sell out and thats far more well known than Voyage and that was 1000 units. I hate to be the one to say this but the customer base for 60s tv sets are dwindling. We love producing these sets but we know there is only so much of a market for them.
