Who is coming up?

JW is not until 2032, so let's concentrate on those born in the 1920's.

Forget about centenaries, what are the big ones coming up like Williams at 85 or Morricone at 95...I thought of this when Elfman, the young Turk!, turned 67...70 is coming up!

We missed out last year on the centenaries of those born in 1919, including Sol Kaplan, Alexander Courage, Carlo Savina & Mario Migliardi.

There's plenty of time to prepare for those due in 2021:

  • June 1st, 1921, Nelson Riddle
  • July 13th, 1921, Ernest Gold
  • September, 24th, 1921, Leonard Salzedo
  • October 21st, 1921, Malcolm Arnold
  • December 6th, 1921, Piero Piccioni
  • December 27th, 1921, Benedetto Ghiglia

Elmer Bernstein and Jerry Fielding in 1922. Strange how I often think of Bernstein and Williams as more or less the same age, while it's actually a whole decade between them.

Addison's centenary transpired before you even created this thread. [Addison was born in March of 1920, but this topic wasn't posted until June of 2020]

You have around 4 months, though, to prepare for Nelson Riddle. smile

In 2023 - in two short years - both William Kraft and Johnny Pate will celebrate their centenary. And, amazingly, if they're lucky, they get to experience it themselves!

Ray Anthony, the famous Glenn Miller trumpeter and frequent film score performer, will have his centenary in less than a year, and maybe also be alive to see it.
