Hi All

Here's My Carter Burwell video interview from today's episode of Film Music Live where he talks about SPACE FORCE, and answers audience questions. Thanks for those who tuned in while it happened!

Stay tuned in about two weeks as we'll hopefully have Patrick Doyle on to talk about Artemis Fowl!

It was a great live Daniel.
Hope Coen's Macbeth can get going soon as it seems like a very exciting project.
But for me the best was the confirmation that my long time grail will finally get released.

Thanks so much Dan. That was very cool news indeed! A real grail score for me!

I did not care for the SPACE FORCE show (finished it yesterday), but I was struck by the music. Surprised it's Burwell; it sounded like Debney or someone like that. But then again, he's extremely versatile.

Agree! The show was so bad I stopped after episode 1! lol!
But I might check out the rest as I am interested to hear Carter's music

He didn't mentioned when, but he mentioned that he believes "its about to be released". He mentioned that It will be a Special Edition 2CD set with the complete score and the album program. I'll keep my eyes on Quartet's anouncements.

The movie is not as good or suspensful as Part II, but I still like it a lot for what it is. Anthony Perkins made a very stylized movie full of black humor with some great scenes (even if it has some gratuitous nudity and he had do reshots to add more blood by studio demand, making some scenes look like an average slasher film of the period). Burwell score is a mix of synths, percusion and voices that is very unique.
The main title music is great and the last third of the movie has some of my favorite tracks.

BTW you can still watch the full Interview on the link provided by Daniel on the first post. He also made some interesting comments on why he does not like so much to score action movies and on other projects.

Cool! Thanx for the info! I actually did start watching the Psycho movies a few years ago but stopped after the second one (not because I didnt like them but I just found something else to watch and then forgot, lol), but that was also before I became a huge Burwell fan (which is only just 1 year or so ago) so will definitley check this one out! I am now constantly searching for scores from him to discover. Luckily there is soooo many! But I do have thing that I have to watch the movie/tv shows first, if not I most likely wont "connect" to the score. So yeah. I've spent A LOT of time on Burwell this year, lol!

Will check out that stream as well, thanx!

This show seems to be aiming for a kind of AVENUE 5 vibe, but failing miserably.

Indeed. The only reason I stuck with it to the end, was the prospect of some sci fi shenanigans down the line (which we sorta got in the last episode or so). Otherwise, I would have jumped ship after the first episode. I've never cared for anything Steve Carell has done, and this was another testament to that.

Watched the first episode, was generally let down, and pretty much hated the score. Sounded cheap.
