Paul Place (the old editor of Music From The Movies) used to say there must be something in the water in Liverpool, cos he could never believe the number of film score enthusiasts there were from around here.
He always used to come up for a weekend visit from Bristol to enjoy some beers and major film music convo's. Good times..

Yes, you and my mate Roy Donga! Ha!

I liked Paul a lot. Consummate professional. We did some good projects together and he was never more than keen, full of ideas and always "got" what i was attempting. A good lad. Do you hear from him kev? Kinda lost contact sadly.

The CD booklet is a 12 Page collection of text and Photos which nicely portray a sense of well colorised tv footage from the early 60s or late 50s in a film photographed in 2018 or 2019. The text is all English so presumably the label does not have many Russian customers. Surrounded as I am by many scousers I can't help but think about Letter to Brezhnev. Wrong time period I know.

Lev Yashin never played for Liverpool, Thor, ya crazy Swede! wink
He was some Russian goalie from the black and white days.
I'd never heard of him either.

A-ha! Guess I got confused due to all the Liverpool talk here; assumed there was a connection somehow. As I said, I'm vaguely familiar with the name, but that's about it.

We've lost touch a bit too, although me and Roy always used to bump into him at the Royal Albert Hall or Barbican whenever there was a big film music concert on there. Probably last saw him 2, maybe 3 years ago?
He seemed fine. Same old Paul. Loved an argument, he did. But a good natured one smile
He did say he lurked around here and had a user name, but I've never sussed it, or if he was just winding us up.
He is a Good Egg.

Well, just finished the CD. A very warm experience which sorta merged into one sound. It had a lotta heart with just a couple of incongrous moments remembering an earlier match with Chile. I suddenly felt whisked to the dockside bar in Montevideo on the film Battle of the River Plate. As to the Donwton Abbey reference Kev, I'm afraid it went over my head. I'll leave it for a couple of weeks and then revisit.

I enjoyed it more on the second listen, George.

With Wind Man, read through the booklet, imagine the story in your mind, peruse the moody stills, and let the gorgeous and evocative music take you on a journey of beauty and mysticism.
That's what I did.
It helps if you're a fan of Ennio Morricone's music.
