Really looking forward to this.

The question is: Who will score? Will Snuffy Walden return? The director worked with Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott on his two first films before hooking up with 73-year old Mark Snow on this years THE NEW MUTANTS.

Time will tell. Personally, I doubt Walden will score this.

It'll be something currently trendy and dull. The Newton Brothers or Disasterpiece etc. It'll be low key droning, with lots of percussion in the action scenes. No themes. Maybe a piano here and there.

No. Richard Bellis didn't do the new version of It...

Not quite comparable. Bellis scored his last movie in 2004. Walden is still active.

Well, Disasterpeace did write a great theme to IT FOLLOWS.

I'll be surprised and disappointed if the new score doesn't sound at least a bit like the original, with some bluegrass guitars and stuff.

Curious who'll score this one. I really loved Snuffy's score for the original but I doubt he'll be back.

I think Nick Cave & Warren Ellis or Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross could really do something cool with this project.

Isn't Snuffy Walden the name of the giant marshmellow creature Gozer used to destroy the world?

Cave and Ellis...could be Interesting.

Reznor and Ross...not so much.

Look, it's extremely unlikely and this isn't a movie. It's being done for CBS All Access, so I wouldn't go crazy with the guesses.

It's showing right soon.
Still no word on a composer?

This is so weird. On IMDB there is an extensive list of credits right down to data controllers, title creators, bus drivers, etc. But not ONE WORD about music. I can't even find a Music Supervisor credit. Either it's all needle drop, there is no score, or someone will be delivering the final recordings the day before broadcast because of last minute waffling.
Oh well, I guess those who are interested in watching will find out on Sunday.

Someone, somewhere, must be working on a music score for this thing.

Maybe it's songs only.

I have always tried to find the right words to describe the current state of affairs in most film music compositions and I have resorted to the word " noise". The words you have written above this reply say it much better than I could ever have said.

This is a hilariously accurate prediction. But as First Breath pointed out, It Follows was a legitimately good score and it did have a theme.

Listening to the samples.

It seems to be driven by moods and sound effects - but that was to be expected.

Actually, I am intrigued by those samples to listen to the whole score.
