"Cleopatra" (20th Century Fox film with Alex North score): Released in 1963 "Mission Impossible" (CBS TV series with Lalo Schifrin score): First aired in 1966 Who lifted what from whom?... Correction: The Mission: Impossible album is from 1967, not 1966. Yes, I know. It's in my collection too. Lalo scored the first three episodes aired in September 17 & 24 and October 1 1966 (the LP was recorded a year later), so the aforementioned piece of music was composed that year. Now if Lalo was inspired by Alex North's music (and not the other way around!) we'll never know but it seems to me like a passing resemblance and nothing more. You are not taking into account the fact that it is the second to last track on the album, and the moment in question occurs approximately 50 seconds into the track, according to Thee Great Graham Watt. You are clearly an Alex North amateur, and are unaware of his time travel abilities. For example, when North was working on "Spartacus" and dropped acid: https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=119919 If he can travel to 1966, he can also travel to 1967. Ha, didn't read that thread back then! That Alex North guy was capable of many wondrous things! (Hey, maybe that's why he never won a competitive Oscar - they were jealous of his superhuman abilities!...)
