Amazon Prime's latest big sci-fi series, TALES FROM THE LOOP, has been gifted an absolutely amazing, beautiful score by the unlikely duo of Philip Glass and Paul Leonard-Morgan. The score came out last week on all the usual platforms, and I highly recommend giving it a spin. It's one of the best TV soundtracks I've heard in a long, long time, and is a fantastic listen on its own away from the show.
Agreed! I watched this a couple of days ago and the score (and the show!) is amazing! It reminds me of Max Richter's The Leftovers score. But also at the same time a bit of Carter Burwell at times. Great stuff!
It's certainly not gonna burn any barns down, that's for sure. But if you're looking for something to listen to while twiddling your thumbs counting eye floaters, this is the thing.

I really need to get around to watching this. Too much good TV out there right now!

Thanks for the heads up. I had seen the title advertised but not seen the actual program. Anything with any amount of Philip Glass has my interest. And if it in any way leans towards sounding like Max Richter, count me in.

This being Glass, it's more hardcore minimalist than Richter, but it was a very interesting score. I didn't know who had scored it while I watched the first episode, but I did think to myself "could this really be Glass himself?". And of course it was. Leonard-Morgan, I'm less familiar with, other than his work on DREDD and LIMITLESS.
As for the show itself, it was pretty good. Looking forward to launching into episode 2 and onwards.

I actually found the first episode to be the weakest, so you have a lot to look forward to
Anyone know what is from Glass and what is from Morgan? Or did they composed all the music togheter?
Film Music Reporter lists: ”Tracks 1-15 by Paul Leonard-Morgan, tracks 16-30 by Philip Glass & Paul Leonard-Morgan”
The first few tracks have a very Philip Glass like feel to them even though they’re credited solely to Leonard-Morgan. In my opinion the second part of the album is the stronger one. But all in all it’s one of the best soundtrack releases I’ve heard this year. So melodic and peaceful. Highly recommended!

I really love the music from this. It's exactly what i needed right now. Beautiful, light and emotional. There's just one little bit that starts too closely to the end titles of Blade Runner (i think it uses the first 4 or five notes) that when it plays it makes me think of that piece. But it's very good stuff. Also perfect for working to. It will replace The Blood On Satan's Claw as my current play-it-to-death-on-an-eternal-loop soundtrack.

I see what you did there, about the "eternal loop"
And yes, still love this score! I wonder if they will ever make another season. Would be great.
