Given that both La-La Land and Quartet are having sales, what are the chances that Intrada will have a sale (or, maybe, free shipping on orders)?

looking back through my order history, they've had sales in April (2017) and May (2019). I didn't see any around that time frame for 2018, but they might have and I just didn't place an order.

If it were me, it would probably make more sense for them to hold off at least as long till the Quartet and LLL sales wrap up, so they all don't cannibalize each other.

At some point, given the environment, I would think anything that stimulates cashflow would be a positive from their perspective.
Then again I don't have a business degree so what do I know.

You might want to add a question mark to the thread title.

I almost had a damn heart attack thinking I'd have to take advantage of this on top of Quartet and La La Land's sales.

Was that misleading subject line intended to be an April Fool's joke?

Yep, they might as wait until current sales are over. Maybe take advantage of some of that stimulus money coming in the weeks and months ahead. If people aren't all out of a job and house by then.

Though sales aren't what they used to be. So much stuff out of stock, shipping fees extraordinarily high.
Its really a clever way to get ppl to buy things they could live without for what amounts to free shipping when all said and done.

Ok, I added a punctuation mark. Picky, picky...

Actually, they already did sale - in late February.

I doubt that they'll do another one so soon.

Plus don't forget - Intrada's sale is not for whole catalog (as Quartet or LLL does), but for selected titles.

People on this forum are so anal about thread titles, it's pretty insane.

I wouldn’t count on it. Instead look for a lecture by Roger about how their CDs are already the lowest they can go, and how they haven’t increased prices, increase in costs to them, etc.- yada, yada, yada.

In this case its justified. "Intrada Sale" by itself is a statement. Intrada is having a sale. It was misleading. Adding punctuation clarifies the subject. All's good in the world now, other than that corona thing going around.

Umm ... two words is a statement (there is no verb)? It was a title. My topic was regarding an "Intrada Sale". I went into more detail in the description. If the thread was truely about an actual sale, someone from Intrada would post such an announcement (with dates and links).

Anyway, the fact that we have continued griping about this minor issue shows we are all very bored...

D'oh!

I forgot there was a sale in February-and I even ordered something in it. The reason I forgot was because it was incredibly underwhelming, with only several titles added to the exact same selection on sale a year before (sans titles that have since sold out).

Maybe Intrada can whether this economic implosion better than other companies?

I don't understand why you see the negative in everything. Are you okay? Please stay safe and healthy, I know this pandemic is really trying. Be well.

Yes, it was very memorable!

I bought 7 titles, which I really enjoy. The only sad moment that I missed Caine Mutiny (which I wanted to buy along with other titles).

It's all coming back to me now...
I ordered a couple of sale titles that I would have otherwise passed on, simply to leverage the shipping on the one title I absolutely wanted to grab before it sold out (Caine Mutiny).

Even if it had sold out I could have grabbed it from another source (the MovieMusic Store still has copies left for anyone looking), but I prefer to throw my business to Intrada as much as possible. They are an extremely smooth and professionally run operation, and their shipping prices in general are among the best in the business.

Probably just as well there won't be another sale anytime soon. I'ver been needing to downshift on my spending anyway.

If they change Intrada to Mayflower Records, they could use this vexing advertising tagline...

Umm ... two words is a statement (there is no verb)?

Two words could be a statement. “Life stinks”, for example. Or “punctuation matters”. smile

“Sale” could of course be a verb, so the owners could be selling Intrada.

Or Intrada could be opening an office in an undistinguished town in Lancashire

One thing’s for sure - “Umm ... two words is a statement (there is no verb)?” isn’t a question, and so doesn’t need a question mark.

Just a bit of fun while waiting for my dinner.
