For me it was Sunday, March 15 at the 20-plex up the street. Plex #11 has a seating capacity of 47, just under the then-recommended max. I'd say maybe 25 were present at most. My row was just me (closest to the screen with a few empty rows in front of me vs. rest of audience behind) until one other guy walked past.
"I think this is my seat but I'll sit here." "Gotcha, social distancing and all. Doubt anyone's gonna kick you out. Nothing like seeing a movie for the 500th time, right? " "But on the big screen for the first time!"
It was King Kong. And let me tell you I was in cinematic heaven from the moment of the first Radio Picture blips. And that was after the Overture(!). The last trip to the movies was for an 87-year-old movie. Ha!
