What about “The Long Sleep”?
Do the cues come from the master tape?
In the previous Fanderson edition, two cues came from the stem.

Not really sure to be honest, Thomas. They sound quite good really though I wouldn't like to say what source was used. Possibly the same source as previously...

Thanks anyway. I'm eager to discover my set.
In the previous Fanderson edition, the two cues from the stem play rather flat.

Got mine today. It's a shade over 5 hours long. There is new material but much of it is taken - as in the original episodes - from earlier Barry Gray scores, like STINGRAY and THUNDERBIRDS. I'm not sure of the some of the source material, such as the music in the opening scenes of the first episode where there is a lot of drumming as Peter Carlin and his companions try to get away from an alien. I'm not sure if that's from tapes or from the episode.

The booklet is excellent and explains where everything comes from.

To be honest, lavish though it is, I'd probably listen to the first 2 sets that Fanderson issued over this one. And for those who only have a casual interest, the recent one-disc release from UFO will be very satisfactory.

Incidentally, I did rather like the art direction!

That's why I didn't start salivating over their all-inclusive Thunderbirds set- the released material covered it all quite well, I could pick up a couple of missing tracks individually on Amazon, and of course the Fanderson gateway.
Mind you I love me expanded and all-inclusive sets, but some days I just can't keep up.

I'm with you. I joined to make the most out of two years membership, the soundtracks. A friend already got me the original double Supercar/Fireball XL5, then I joined to get the two disc UFO, and Stingray. Despite me already having the Silva Thunderbirds 1 and Captain Scarlet I put them on my list to get when they were expanded. I have the Joe 90 on Silva and that will do me. So. My collection stands at

1) Supercar/Fireball XL5 - first release.
2) Thunderbirds - last big one (plus the Silva 1)
3) Captain Scarlet - last big one (plus Silva)
4) UFO - the two disc set
5) Joe 90 - Silva
6) Space 1999 - Season 1 (not interested in Season 2) original two disc set.
7) Doppleganger

And that rather does me. I deliberated for ages whether to get the Four Feather Falls disc, even though it's not as important, but it is sweet and nostalgic. Who knows whether I'll give in some day?.....

That said, in the last couple of months I spent maybe $300 to collect:
-The Sampler #2
-Stingray 2-CD (which I should have bought when I was a member)
-Fireball XL5 expansion
-Supercar expansion
-Doppelganger/Journey to the Far Side of the Sun (I don;t know if that was avail 12 yrs ago)
For all that my Fanderson collection is a bit of a hodge-podge, but even the initial releases are well put together physically and musically.

Can't remember. But in that case the latest versions do a little bit too (to my ears).

Everything unreleased on ‘The Long Sleep’ is taken from stems with any sound effects dialled out

That makes sense because in the previous booklet, the writer pointed out that the master tapes were lost.
