First one in this century! 17 April. Now we need him to do another film score.

I guess he won't be using the synclaviers, drum machines and saxophones from 1986, but this is exciting nevertheless.

Wonder if he credits the great Jack Nitzsche for that pretty close to, "Up Where We Belong" AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN reference in his song "LOVE"?

I'm a big fan of Foster and really dig his WINTER GAMES and his scores for ST. ELMO'S FIRE, STEALING HOME and THE SECRET OF MY SUCCESS. VOICES THAT CARE and the whole album that "Winter Games" was on is really great including his TIME PASSING.

Love SAJE, which he used in ST. ELMO'S FIRE as Andrew McCarthy and Ali Sheedy's Love Theme.

David Foster's music is really quite wonderful!

Yes, it's similar to the Cocker song but my guess is it's a coincidence.

He also did good stuff for FRESH HORSES, LISTEN TO ME, ONE GOOD COP, TEEN AGENT and GOLDEN FIDDLES.

Solo piano rarely works for me. I wasn't fussed on that recent Vangelis album. All a bit Einaudi to me, who I can't stand. I like Foster though, interested to hear it.

I agree that piano solo albums can get boring, but Foster is a particular talent. And I think I heard some keyboard backing on the LOVE track.

I read his autobiography HITMAN, and there is very little talk about his film music there. He said the late 80s was a difficult period, and I guess he did the film scores for the money. In the early 90s, when things started getting better professionally, he stopped doing scores.

A pity.
