That's a big-loss my condolences too this fatal tragedy. I've heard of Bryant's name all the time in the UK i don't follow basket-ball I don't know what team Bryant played for but he was talented that's for sure a pity, i vaguely remember Bryant meeting Williams at some gala i'm not sure what the connection was both got on very-well.
Yep, Williams paid tribute too Bryant's retirement by writing the music for his short animated film that won an award at the 90th Academy Awards, now i see why they were so friendly together that was a nice moment.
Helicopters are dangerous full-stop, My condolences too all their family's. R.I.P.
And now I'm reading that he was in the habit of taking choppers everywhere because he didn't like dealing with traffic on the roads. I mean, I totally get the "living the luxurious high life" thing but, my God, there has to be a limit to how far someone takes that concept. I guess when you think about it, a chopper crash is no more or less as tragic as the zillions of car crashes that happen every day--so I suppose the odds are even.

Yep, i can understand peoples tolerance too traffic but flying is not a great lifestyle too lead the equivalent of any accident is like a motorbike your getting exposed - i think copters need to be army issue & emergency only there trained like no other, the UK had there fair share of fatalities that could of been avoided.
Private planes and helicopters seem to be the transportation of choice for the rich and famous. Those things go down all the time and there's far less of them in the air than cars on the roads.
Just last year NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr, his wife and child survived a crash landing. About a decade ago a race team owner lost like eight of his family and employees to a downed private plane.
And of course we got those strange Hollywood elites who take life into their own hands by flying "for a hobby". Ford survived, Horner did not.
I wouldn't get on those things unless my life depended on it. Ironic game the well off play for not dealing with crowds and traffic.
Bungling bbc bosses showed two clips of lebron james in their news report last night instead of Kobe Bryant. Jeez, at least they got the right sport ...

I’m afraid I’m not surprised at the BBC.
Horrible accident, feeling especially bad for the kids involved who had no option in choice of transport.

.....and he was black of course, surely that's close enough..... A tall Black man playing Basketball ?
Was surprised to see Sky News spending so much time on this last night, completely altering their news schedule. I think you could ask 100 random people over here if they know of him and less than a third would. I think a lot of Brits will be saying Kobe who ? I know its a tragedy and he is a global star, but I think the coverage has been disproportionate.
I knew Bryant from his adverts with adidas in the 90s. I knew he was "Michael Jordan massive", up there with scottie pippin and Dennis Rodman and those guys at the time. Is bryant one of top 5 names in basketball? Top 10?
Terrible tragedy when big names go young in accidents such as this. Weve had several high profile plane and copter crashes in the uk over the years (2 football owners and a footballer last year). There was actress aaliyah too wasnt there, whose plane took off with too much weight on board.

I agree.
Ive never really got how huge basketball is in the states and how much ppl glorify these athletes. Its a very tragic and horrible death, but nothing is more tragic than the death of his (or anyone else's) child.
This is horrible. What a loss for so many. My heart breaks for his family - his wife and 3 daughters who lost their father and their sister. He was always known as a wonderful father.
