Zemeckis officially linked to the live action remake !

https://deadline.com/2020/01/pinocchio-robert-zemeckis-to-direct-1202840440/

Interesting project for Maestro Alan Silvestri (TBC of course wink )

We might get a good score, but the film itself will be shit.

I am hopeful for the score, but I am tired of people like Zemeckis wasting their time on these pointless, lifeless, uninspired remake-territory films.

This will undoubtedly go in a pile with crap like Burton's "Dumbo".

Like 95% of everything coming out these days.

It will be a little wooden girl. Plenty of actresses in Hollywood can play the part.

Following Welcome to Marwen, I am confident that, under Zemeckis, the donkey transformation here will make the original look like an episode of Sesame Street.

Still, Silvestri in fantasy mode = hell yeah!

Didn't we just have a Pinocchio movie by Matteo Garrone (with a Marianelli score)? They're just spewing them out there now. smile

In any case, I agree with the critical voices in this thread. I wish Zemeckis got back to original screenplays and ideas rather than this campy fluff. I loved FLIGHT a few years ago; more of that, please.

You can't possibly top the original score and songs. Spend one percent of the budget and re-record the original score and leave it at that. Its a far better use of money.

If you aren't familiar with them (raises hand) it won't matter.

Wow, you've never seen Pinocchio? The score is a masterpiece.

I like Polar Express just fine, but otherwise, Zemeckis is a good live action director.
They should just not do this. The pillaging continues

It's never a good sign for me when the "Main Title" is the LAST track on the CD...
