I thought this was a thread explaining what Picard meant in the trailer where he says he resigned because Starfleet wasn't Starfleet anymore. If this is why, then we're living in the evil parallel Trek universe.

That's right. The spinoff-era Starfleet seal was a copy of real military seals, agency seals, and NASA mission patches. And the delta symbol goes back to 1942. But on the Internet, it's considered hilarious to attack from a position of total ignorance.

Well color me ignorant. I too thought they were ripping off Star Trek. But unlike some, I'm willing to accept the facts as presented to me. Though there was that "Star Wars" thing at one time...
