Since PAPILLON has come up, here's a custom cover I made a while back featuring the unused Richard Amsel poster art.

@Wedge
Fabulous Papillon art. Do you know the reason it went unused?

Intrada "remakes"

I wanted to redo the title logo as I was not a fan of the way part of the poster imagery was blackened out to enhance readability (at least on the online 600x600 cover - not sure if the printed version is different).

The Mummy:

I never understood why DJ appeared in such a prominent position on the poster (and twice for that matter) when the role was very much a cameo (contractual I suppose), and wanted to include John Hannah instead. I also wanted to preserve the composer credit font treatment from Intrada's Mummy release for consistency.

The Mummy Returns:

For both covers, the composer credit font is not a perfect match but it's all I could find that was non-commercial.

PSA for anyone who does't know: Whatthefont is a great resource for matching unknown typeface. Screengrab the font you like, save it as a JPEG and upload it to their search engine. It will recognize the characters (so cropping the screengrab beforehand makes things easier) and will provide many examples of the closest match.

If the match isn't free, which is usually the case, you can search for a free download on sites like 1001freefonts.com or just via web search to get what is often a very close match.

I use whatfontis.com, which does basically as you have described smile

Man I love this thread. So much great stuff recently: Planet of the Apes, Papillon, Jason and the Argonauts, Bram Stoker's Dracula...

No idea! Technically, part of it WAS used (just the faces) for the 1977 rerelease poster, which was also used for a DVD release as I recall:

Updated my previous post with a higher-res file, BTW.
