You're right that The Cotton Club is a disjointed disappointment, but the scenes with Bob Hoskins and Fred Gwynn are priceless. But the best part of it for me is the Grammy-winning soundtrack, which features a superb balance of 30s jazz and just enough of Barry's score. I've listened to it a thousand times.
